This is a teaching sample from Beginning Conversation in American Sign Language: Level I course at Burbank Adult School. I used PowerPoint for teaching lessons from Signing Naturally textbook. During class the students learned how to describe a person based on their appearance, clothes, and activity. The teaching method I used was Cooperative Language Learning, meaning the students were participating by using expressive and receptive skills to respond my questions during my teaching. The purpose of this teaching method is to allow the students to openly express themselves in an nonjudgmental environment.
